Volcano Mombacho Hike and Canopy
Reserva Natural volcan Mombacho is located 11km from the colonial city of Granada. It is an extraordinary 5-crater volcano, including a cloud forest that possesses a wide variety of flora and fauna, as well as impressive scenic views. Will take you through the Crater trail to the top and do not forget to ask your guide about Mombacho Salamander which is only found at Mombacho volcano.
After you have hiked the trail, you will head off to the zip line area…you are almost ready to begin flying through the rainforest canopy! You will have a personal zip-line instructor that will go over all of the details and show you how to operate your gear and the zip-line before you get started.

Ometepe Island
Ometepe island was formed by two volcanoes rising up from Lake Nicaragua, also known by Spanish conquerer’s as the fresh water ocean due to its size. Ometepe offers you a chance to step back in time and visit a jungle island paradise. You arrive to the island by ferry; so make sure to have your camera ready for some beautiful shots of the volcanoes.
There are two options for the full day tour:
1-Museum el Ceibo, spring in Santo Domingo beach and petrogliph at Finca Magdalena.
This tour begins with a delicious breakfast in a local restaurant in Moyogalpa where you will test the local islander’s cuisine. After breakfast you will visit El Ceibo museum, where you can learn about the ancient history and ceramic artwork of the pre-Colombian indigenous culture that lived on Ometepe Island. Next up: a trip to Finca Magdalena where you will walk and explore the large number of petrogliphs and stone carved with figures, lines and circles throughout the different trails. After your hike, you will finish with a delicious lunch at Finca Magdalena. The way back to the port is a great experience, in which you will have the option to swim and rejuvenate your skin with mineral water coming from Maderas volcano, in Santo Domingo.
2-Volcan Maderas and cascada San Ramon.
This tour takes you to the Maderas Volcano water fall, which is about 180 mts high. If you wish to hike up to the waterfall it is typically a 2 hour hike but can vary, depending on your level of fitness. On the trail you will see different species of animals such as white face monkeys and native birds along with many others. You may be tempted to take a refreshing swim once you arrive at the waterfall San Ramon.
Madera volcano rise about 1394 mts. above sea level and is considered one of two rain forest volcanoes in Nicaragua, after Mombacho. The hike takes about 5 hours round trip. Once we are back at Finca San Ramon it is time for a delicious lunch and relaxing, before we prepare to return to the ferry.

Tour to San Juan del Sur and Canopy
San Juan Del Sur has the largest bay on the southern Pacific Coast of Nicaragua. Being that it is surrounded by various other beautiful beaches, this makes it even more attractive to travelers. San Juan del Sur is also home to local markets, & many popular cafes and beachfront restaurants. There is always something to see or do in this bustling beach side community.
The canopy tour, “The Flying Frog” is located on the border of a farm at the foot of the hill. Nature is abundant in the area, and you may see animals including monkeys, raccoons, birds, and lizards, among many others. The canopy tour starts at the top of one of the hills, from where you will have a superb view of the bay in San Juan del Sur and its surrounding area. For a single person, it takes about 45 minutes to complete the whole canopy tour. Before you start the actual tour the guides that have been assigned to your group will show you what to do with the zip line and also train you on other more exciting options such as practicing the Superman and the Upside down which are two tricks you can try if you feel you can handle it.

Trip to San Juan del Sur by Boat
San Juan Del Sur continues to be a growing beachside community in the South Pacific of Nicaragua. This bustling beach town has a small market, many good restaurants, nice people and beautiful views all around…including: to La Cara del Indio or The Indian Face Hill.
The boat trip itself is a great way to explore the beauty of the Pacific Coast. Be ready to take in the natural splendor of the coast line and the sea life you may observe along the way. It is not uncommon to see dolphins, turtles, and even whales during the season.

Hike Pie de Gigante
The fishing community of Playa Gigante takes its name from this
distinctive mountain point, which separates it from Redonda Bay.
Some people say that the point looks like the foot of a giant, hence the name “Pie de Gigante”
Climbing the foot is a favorite activity for locals and visitors alike. This is a great workout and just steps away from your vacation rental.
The view from the top is spectacular; morning or sunset hikes are the preferred times… prepare to be wowed!

Granada City and Masaya Volcano Full Day
Granada is one of the two oldest colonial cities of the Americas in Nicaragua. It was established in 1524 by the conquistador, Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba. This town is full of history and there is a plenty to do and see. From getting a horse and carriage ride through the city over cobble stone streets, to going to the museum of chocolate and visiting the cigar factory.
The Masaya volcano national park includes two volcanoes and five craters. This volcano has erupted many times in history. The Spanish baptized the volcano, La boca Del infierno or “The mouth of hell”. They also planted a cross, “La Cruz de Bobadilla” on the crater lip in the 16th century, in order to exorcise the devil. There are several trails, great view, craters, underground tunnels and caves.

Granada City, Las Isletas or Carriage Tour
Granada is the oldest city in Nicaragua, and one of the oldest in all
of Central America. At one time, this historical city was also the capital of Nicaragua. The city features many large colonial buildings with classic Spanish architecture. This town is full of history! During Colonial times, Granada was attacked several times by pirates, including the famous Blackbeard.
During your visit you will see some of the oldest buildings in the region including, the San Francisco and La Merced Churches. You will be able to taste the famous ‘vigorón’ – a typical dish from Granada that includes, yucca, cabbage salad, and pork wrapped in a banana leaf.
LAS ISLETAS:
You may also choose to tour Las Isletas in Lake Nicaragua. When Mombacho Volcano erupted thousands of years ago, it threw huge rocks into the Lake Nicaragua. As a result, 365 islands were formed. You will tour the islands by boat and appreciate the immensity of Lake Nicaragua, and its wildlife. Monkeys have even been known to join the boat tour from time to time.
CARRIAGE TOUR:
Perhaps you prefer to stay on dry land for this adventure. You also have the option to relax and take it all in as you tour Granada on a horse and carriage. This tour takes you through the main streets in downtown Granada, where you can observe & explore; learn more about the history, growing art culture and the locals who call Granada home.

Laguna de Apoyo/Masaya Volcano & Market
The Laguna de Apoyo is a crater lake, one of the most beautiful natural spots in Nicaragua. It is home to 10% of the country’s biodiversity, including 48 mammals. Here you will appreciate the view of the lake, the city of Granada and Lake Nicaragua. The Masaya Volcanic Park was the first national park in Nicaragua founded by Anastasio Somoza Debayle in 1979. It includes two volcanoes and 5 craters. The volcanoes have erupted several times throughout history, and were feared by both the indigenous people and Spanish conquerors. Visitors can peek over the edge of the volcano and look into the impressive crater, which is continuously emitting smoke and sulfur gases. There are several trails that lead to other great views, craters, caves and underground tunnels. Due to the strength, conservation and expression of its cultural traditions, Masaya is considered the “Cradle of National Folklore”. The city was declared the “Cultural Legacy of the Nation” in 1989 and the “Capital of National Folklore” in 2000. The crafts market is the place to get your Nicaraguan souvenirs. Among the numerous crafts sold are wooden dishes, leather products, local paintings, vibrant handmade hammocks and local art.

Your tour begins at Playa Gigante, a quaint fishing village where locals enjoy a beautiful bay and the simple pleasures of a traditional coastal lifestyle. From here you will board a 2 seat 2013 Polaris Ranger and ride through the rural neighborhoods surrounding the bay, giving you a glimpse of authentic Nicaraguan living. Our first stop is the secluded sandy beach Playa Amarillo. Here you will enjoy cruising down the wide-open stretch of undeveloped coastline toward the rocky cliffs at the beaches northern end. We will continue our journey on a jungle path that leads you up a steep rocky hill to our second stop, Montenque Point, an overlook between Playas Amarillo and Colorado. On a clear day you can see the Guanacaste Peninsula of Costa Rica. The beach here is popular with professional surfers who travel from far and wide to ride the barrels that put Colorado on the map.
On our way back to Gigante we’ll take a different jungle route for some off-roading fun and a chance to observe both wildlife and native villages in this remote region.
